How the predictions work
Every team has a strength rating that moves after each game by how surprising the result was and by the margin. A second model tracks how many points each team scores and allows compared with its league average. Home court is measured league by league. The two combine into the win probability, the projected score and the total points. Teams with only a few games are pulled toward the average, so their predictions stay cautious.
